This special series, initiated by the SADC of Nicolet-Bécancour in collaboration with La Brigade of the Les Seigneuries Secondary School of Saint-Pierre-les-Becquets, presents sustainable development initiatives from four organizations in our region.
It is with great pride that the SADC of Nicolet-Bécancour and La Brigade of Les Seigneuries Secondary School presented today the result of the recording of four episodes: Embark on sustainable development with the Young Interviewers. Excited, the group of students from different levels wanted to share their experience in creating this special series featuring four organizations in the region that have integrated sustainable development practices into their organization, following the PROAction support from the SADC of Nicolet-Bécancour.
This project, made possible through the collaboration of the Alcoa Foundation, aims, in the first instance, to raise awareness among young people about the importance of sustainable development in an entrepreneurial context and to demonstrate the feasibility of such actions close to home. In a second instance, this project offers a privileged networking opportunity and an enriching journalistic experience for these adults of tomorrow.
The students thus received four guests to talk to them about certain prioritized actions in their organization regarding sustainable development in the three main spheres that compose it: the environment, the economy, and social life or governance. These are Sébastien Jubinville from Parc de la rivière Gentilly, Janie Pepin from Paniers P&P, Sonia Goulet-Lacasse from MicroEntreprendre Centre-du-Québec, and Louis-Vincent Legault from Entre fleuve & brebis.
“Since 2017, the SADC has supported more than sixty-five businesses and organizations from all sectors towards taking action in sustainable development. This podcast is a great opportunity to showcase the initiatives of these leaders who are implementing concrete and innovative actions to reduce their environmental impacts and maximize social and economic benefits! We are very happy to have contributed to this beautiful project that helps demystify sustainable development through the refreshing voices of these young people!”, mentions Carolyne Aubin, general director at the SADC Nicolet-Bécancour.
This initiative began with a presentation on sustainable development led by Martino Vidot, strategic advisor in sustainable development at the SADC Nicolet-Bécancour, and Éliane Abbott, project and communication officer, which the students attended. Then, divided into teams, they met with the designated companies to better understand how they integrate sustainable strategies into their daily practices. Finally, each group prepared and conducted an interview, resulting in the creation of four distinct episodes produced by the local radio VIA 90.5.
This project was made possible thanks to the dedicated involvement of Marlène Dubois, spiritual life facilitator, and the community engagement of Les Seigneuries Secondary School. The Young Interviewers are composed of Camille Boisonneault, Lilirose Brunelle, and Keyonnah Alexandre (Paniers P&P); Kamyl Pressé, Chloée Desrochers, and Delphine Provencher (Parc de la rivière Gentilly); Florianne Binette, Marissa Girouard, and Naéma Gagnon (Entre fleuve & brebis); Alexane Beaudet, Kate Martel, and Élie Barabé (MicroEntreprendre Centre-du-Québec).
The four episodes are available on the following platforms under the name Embark on sustainable development with the Young Interviewers: Spotify, TuneIn, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, Google Podcasts, and Balado Québec. They are also accessible on the website of the SADC of Nicolet-Bécancour and VIA 90.5.
This project initiated by the SADC of Nicolet-Bécancour, as part of the Nicolet-Bécancour Resolutely Sustainable campaign, was made possible thanks to the financial collaboration of the Alcoa Foundation. Thanks also to VIA 90.5 for their collaboration on this project.
