Upcoming Revitalization Process in Nicolet-Yamaska

Diagnosis and Revitalization Plan for the Municipalities of Pierreville, Saint-Léonard-d’Aston, Sainte-Eulalie, Sainte-Monique, and Nicolet

The MRC of Nicolet-Yamaska has mandated the cooperative L’Enclume, a territorial development workshop, to conduct a diagnosis and a revitalization plan for the municipalities of Pierreville, Saint-Léonard-d’Aston, Sainte-Eulalie, Sainte-Monique, and Nicolet. The contract awarded for an amount of $78,000 includes not only the diagnosis but also a strategic plan, an action plan, a pooling of resources, and recommendations, and will extend over 16 months.

“Some municipalities in the MRC of Nicolet-Yamaska are seeing their businesses and service enterprises leave their commercial arteries or village core, despite revitalization efforts and support for economic development,” emphasizes the prefect of the MRC of Nicolet-Yamaska and mayor of Nicolet, Geneviève Dubois. “We had each initiated revitalization efforts in the past, and I commend the collaboration on this file that will allow us to go further and view the commercial offer more globally across our territory,” adds the prefect.

The territorial development workshop, L’Enclume, has an impressive track record in strategic planning, commercial structure analysis, and urban planning. To carry out its mandate in our territory, the cooperative has partnered with the firm Demarcom, specialized in marketing and management of urban commercial functions. Data collection, field visits, discussion groups, online surveys, and several analyses (commercial, urban, landscape, animation, and positioning) will be used to create a comprehensive portrait.
